We had our first mentor session with Tim & Franicia at their home recently. We enjoyed it so much, that we wanted to offer the same opportunity to others! Our only restriction is that you must live/plan to establish your photography business 100 miles outside of Pensacola, FL.
David and I had the opportunity to attend Brides/Brides Atlanta’s premiere party for the new show on TLC, Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta. Ummm, how exciting was that??? Most of you know that I was born and raised in the Atlanta area and that we always enjoy an excuse to drive up there. So, we got together our outfits (total torture for both of us, we are jeans & t-shirt people all the way) and worked out plans to meet up with our awesome friends Rae & Wes to ride together to the party.
First order of the evening, get some quick portraits in downtown Atlanta. Great idea, but I tell ya… it was HOT!

And one of my fave people in the industry, Suzette Wilson from Brides Atlanta…
It really was a great evening! We got to meet a lot of new people and see all of our favorite Atlanta wedding vendors. We also took a lot more photos, but mostly with our iPhones. How sad is that? LOL The event was truly wonderful to be a part of and we can’t wait to see more episodes of Say yes to the Dress Atlanta!

May the 2nd was our anniversary and here is something I posted that day….
“13 years ago today, I promised him I would spend the rest of my life with him. 13 years ago I didn’t know what I was getting into or what we would go through, but I know I wouldn’t want to journey through this life with anyone else. David truly is my best friend, lover, and partner. I love youuuuuu, David!!!”
We celebrated by getting a hotel room in Sandestin (since we were shooting a wedding out there the day before) and spent the day shopping, going to the beach, and had dinner at PF Chang’s. It was a perfect day to just enjoy each others company and reflect on how the Lord has grown our marriage.

We had family photos made!!!! I know, I know… that’s a shocker. These beautiful photographs were taken by Wes & Rae of Rae Leytham Photography (editing by me). Much silliness occurred in downtown Pensacola that day and I am so glad that Rae and Wes were patient with me. I really would much rather stay on the other side of the camera, but they had great suggestions and made me feel purdy! ~Jessica
I have missed a couple of months of Beach Bum Diaries… been just that busy! Sooooo, here is a Beach Bum Diary post full of randomness.
First I will share some cool photos David got when he went down to Pensacola Beach to get shots of Tropical Storm Ida. He met Stephanie Abrams and Jim Cantore of the Weather Channel! (David said they were both VERY nice.)
David and I got all snazzified up and went to the Southern Weddings magazine launch party in Atlanta! (Brides, you really should check it out… seriously the most gorgeous wedding magazine I have ever seen!!!)

Some of you may know this already, but kids and babies L O V E David. At the end of a session, he can get even the most shy kid to come to him. Me, not so much. Until the end of this one particular session, when the little sweetie pie we had been photographing wanted me to hold her hand while we walked to our cars. I am so glad David got a shot!
Something extremely rare… and actual, literal picture of me and David taken for the sake of just taking a picture! Yay!
Yep, beach bums in Iowa. We shot a wedding in Dubuque last night and have been walking around exploring a bit today. The weather here has been glorious… to walk outside without immeditaely sweating in August is a great thing! Trying to find a good spot for dinner tonight. Anyway, here are some pics from this afternoon…
